Title: | ART: ontology based annotation of scientific papers |
Date: | Tuesday 2nd December at 13:00 |
Location: | Room MLG.001 (Lecture Theatre) in the MIB Building |
Abstract: | Within the JISC (Joined Information Systems Committee) funded project ART we have developed an ontology based content metadata set CISP (the Core Information about Scientific Papers) and a tool ART (ARticle preparation Tool) for the annotation of papers. CISP defines the key concepts for the description of experiment-driven scientific investigations: "goal";, "hypothesis";, "method","observation", "result", "conclusion". Currently we are annotating 200 papers from Physical Chemistry area using CISP to create ART corpora – a set of semantically enriched papers. Our tool ART is designed to ease the annotation process. The proposed within ART project approach for annotation of papers from Physical Chemistry domain can be applied for various areas.
