Title: | Natural Language Processing Techniques for Biomedical Text Mining |
Date: | 12:00, Friday 4th March |
Location: | Room F10, MSS Building |
Abstract: | In this talk, I will start by giving an overview of the state-of-the-art of relevant natural language processing techniques including part-of-speech tagging, shallow-parsing, and syntactic parsing from the viewpoint of facilitating biomedical text mining. Then I will elaborate on an efficient bidirectional tagging algorithm for sequence labeling problems. Finally, I will briefly describe the HPSG parser developed by our laboratory which provides deep syntactic parsing, and I will show some parsing results from the Medline abstracts. |
