Invited talk at IPRC Workshop "Copyright exceptions in the UK: time for reform?"
2011-11-11
John McNaught, Deputy Director of NaCTeM, will give a talk entitled Pitfalls and shafts of light: copyright, licensing, text mining and the search for knowledge at the IPRC Workshop "Copyright exceptions in the UK: time for reform?", to be held at Brunel University, London on Monday 5th December.
In May 2011, the Hargreaves Review of Intellectual Property made recommendations for reforming the intellectual property law in the UK to better stimulate economic growth. The workshop will focus on the parameters of introducing these exceptions into UK copyright law and will shed light on the conditions upon which the proposed exceptions should apply.
