New meta-knowledge corpus and highly-accessed publication
2011-10-10
We are pleased to announce the release of our new meta-knowledge event corpus. This is an enriched version of the entire GENIA event corpus (1000 abstracts with 36,858 events), in which the event annotations have been enriched with several types of information relating to the intended interpretation of the event. We term this information meta-knowledge.
Examples of meta-knowledge include: whether the event represents a fact, experimental observation or analysis, and, in the latter case, how certain the author is about the validity of the analysis. Our annotation also differentiates between events that describe information reported in a previous article, and events that present information relating to the current study.
These and other types of meta-knowledge annotation are described more fully on our meta-knowledge corpus page, which includes links to download both the corpus and the annotation guidelines.
Further details about the design of the annotation scheme and the constriction of the corpus can be found in a new publication, which has been designated as "Highly Accessed" on the journal website.
