Workshop - Text mining for life science & STM publishers - 11th May 2010, London
2010-01-13
The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) is organising a event entitled Text mining: unlocking the literature in STM publishing.
The event will be held in London on Tuesday, 11th May 2009 and will be chaired by NaCTeM's director, Professor Sophia Ananiadou.
Overview
Academic publishing is no longer solely about delivering content for human readers. Increasingly, researchers are employing text mining technology to analyse the latest published research and identify items of interest. This ALPSP update will inform life science and STM publishers about how content can be enhanced through the integration of text mining services, as well as examine how text miners and publishers can work together to establish services and standards that will support the next generation of scientific, life science, and pharmaceutical publishing.
Who should attend: Publishing staff involved in: publishing technology and strategy; Web development; content and workflow planning; pharmaceutical product development.
